The much-anticipated 2024 Butter Cow will be officially unveiled on August 7 at 3 p.m. in the Dairy Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds.

This iconic event is a highlight of the Illinois State Fair, drawing visitors from across the state and beyond to marvel at the intricate sculpture made entirely of 500 pounds of unsalted butter. The unveiling ceremony promises to be a memorable occasion, attended by several notable guests.

Governor JB Pritzker and First Lady MK Pritzker are invited to the event, alongside Jerry Costello II, the Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA), and Rebecca Clark, the State Fair Manager. Additionally, Natalie Evans, the reigning Miss Illinois County Fair Queen, will be present to add a touch of royal flair to the proceedings.

The Butter Cow has been a cherished tradition at the Illinois State Fair for many years. Each year, a skilled sculptor carefully crafts the cow, creating a unique masterpiece that fairgoers eagerly await.
