Illinois Soybean Board Approves FY26 Projects

Illinois Soybean Board Approves FY26 Projects

By Andi Anderson

The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) Board of Directors has approved a strong lineup of projects for fiscal year 2026 (FY26), aiming to benefit the state’s 43,000 soybean farmers. These initiatives will focus on research, advocacy, market development, and communications, ensuring maximum return on farmer investments.

The Soybean Production Committee, led by Bryan Severs, ISA District 7 Director, will support university-led research, on-farm trials, and digital outreach through tools like Field Advisor. The committee also plans to host field days and local events to share the latest production strategies and technologies.

“The newly approved checkoff-funded projects reinforce our commitment to Illinois soybean farmers by advancing region-specific on-farm research, strengthening production practices, and supporting better yields and profitability,” said Severs.

The Government Relations Committee, chaired by Ryan Frieders, ISA District 1 Director, will advocate for farmer-friendly policies at both state and national levels. The committee’s focus areas include estate taxes, pesticide regulations, and biofuels policy.

“Your ISA Government Relations team is well-positioned to continue to be a voice for Illinois farmers in Springfield, Ill. and Washington, D.C.,” said Frieders.

Market expansion will continue through the efforts of the Market Development Committee, chaired by Brady Holst, an at-large ISA Director. Support will continue for the Soy Innovation Center, alongside partnerships with organizations like the Illinois Beef Association, Illinois Pork Producers Association, U.S. Soybean Export Council, and others.

The ISA Communications team will focus on consistent outreach through its monthly Illinois Field and Bean magazine, digital content, events, and campaigns such as Illinois Farm Families.

“Overall, ISA’s leadership looks to maximize soybean farmers’ investments in FY26, and that is exactly what these projects speak to,” said Ron Kindred, ISA Board Chairman. “As we close out FY25 and move into FY26 in September, we look forward to continuing to engage on behalf of the more than 43,000 soybean farmers in Illinois in the areas of soybean production, government relations and market development.”

As FY25 ends, the ISA remains committed to growing opportunities in production, policy, and markets for soybean farmers statewide.
