IL Corn and Illinois Soybean Association Shine at Farm Progress Show 2023

The Illinois Corn Growers Association (IL Corn) and the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) held a successful Farm Progress Show in August. The two organizations shared a booth space and had rave reviews from farmers and checkoff contributors.

IL Corn Executive Director Rodney Weinzierl said that the show was an excellent opportunity to connect with farmers and share information about the organization's work. He also said that the show was a great way to get feedback from farmers about their priorities.

Among the accomplishments of IL Corn and ISA at the show were:

• Getting 230 comments to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration docket

• Getting 360 ICGA members to check in and get a free gift

• Getting 199 farmers and agribusiness leaders to give permission to be contacted via text for additional advocacy opportunities

• Getting 650 entries for the Precision Conservation Management giveaway, which translated into almost this many conversations about on-farm conservation practices

• Getting 56 students to share their contact information for scholarship info and future outreach

• Hosting five legislators/dignitaries at their booth

• Giving 18 media interviews

• Exhibiting with 13 partners

• Distributing 3,200 brisket and Italian beef samples provided by the IL Beef Association

IL Corn was also a partner in three larger events:

• The Future of Biofuels Panel, where they discussed the Next Generation Fuels Act

• The naming of the first Illinois Leopold Award winner, the Frey Family

• The release of the Illinois Fertilizer Retailer Survey

IL Corn and ISA had a successful Farm Progress Show. They were able to connect with many farmers and checkoff contributors, and they achieved several important accomplishments.

The Farm Progress Show is an annual event that brings together farmers, agribusinesses, and policymakers from across the country. It is a great opportunity for organizations like IL Corn and ISA to share their work with the agricultural community.

The two organizations are committed to supporting Illinois farmers and promoting the state's agricultural industry. The Farm Progress Show was a great opportunity for them to do both.
