Alex Harrell, a pioneering farmer from Smithville, Georgia, has once again set a new world record for soybean yield, achieving an astonishing 218.2856 bushels per acre.
This remarkable achievement surpasses his previous world record of 206.8 bushels per acre, set just last year. Harrell's success is a testament to the effectiveness of BRANDT’s cutting-edge nutritional technology, which played a crucial role in maximizing his crop's potential.
Harrell’s record-breaking yield was the result of a meticulously crafted fertility program, developed in close collaboration with BRANDT experts and his crop consultant. Key BRANDT products, including BRANDT Smart Trio, BRANDT Smart Quatro Plus, BRANDT Smart B-Mo, and BRANDT Smart K B, were strategically applied throughout the growing season to address specific nutrient demands at precise growth stages.
“I’ve trusted BRANDT products because they consistently deliver results,” Harrell explained. “This year, we pushed even harder, and BRANDT’s solutions didn’t disappoint. Every product worked in harmony, keeping my nutrient levels exactly where they needed to be to help achieve this record yield.”
Central to Harrell’s success was the use of BRANDT’s innovative foliar nutrient line, BRANDT Smart System.
This advanced technology ensures efficient micronutrient delivery, integrates smoothly with crop protection products, and helps mitigate stress, enabling crops to thrive even under challenging conditions.
“Helping growers like Alex reach new heights in yield is what drives us every day,” said Brian Haschemeyer, VP of BRANDT Discovery & Innovation. “But it’s not just about breaking records; it’s about delivering real value to growers by ensuring they get the best return on their investment.”
BRANDT has a rich history of contributing to world-record yields, having previously supported record-breaking achievements in both corn and soybean yields with farmers like David Hula and Randy Dowdy.
“Congratulations, Alex, on pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in agriculture yet again,” said Rick Brandt, President and CEO of BRANDT. “To put this in perspective: The USDA average soybean yield last year was less than 50 bushels per acre. Alex’s yield is an extraordinary accomplishment. And it’s even more special in that he’s now done it twice. We are thrilled to be part of the team.”
