Free Family Fun Awaits at Du Quoin State Fair

The 2026 Du Quoin State Fair is set to offer a wide range of free entertainment and family-friendly activities from August 28 through September 7, 2026. With free admission and numerous attractions across the fairgrounds, visitors can enjoy a full day of fun without spending extra on entertainment.

“Governor Pritzker has made affordability a priority for the Du Quoin State Fair, and our team has looked for every opportunity to deliver on that,” said Jerry Costello II, Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture. “Admission is always free, and with a wide variety of performances and attractions available at no cost, families can enjoy a full day of fun without worrying about their wallets.”

The fair’s Free Entertainment Tent will feature music performances and a relaxing space for visitors of all ages. Educational attractions include Agri-Bot, a transforming Camaro exhibit that highlights modern agriculture, and the Thank-a-Farmer exhibit, where children can experience different stages of the farming process through hands-on activities.

Families can enjoy several interactive attractions, including the Bubble Bus, Duck Derby, Wander Community Arts, and Show-Me Safari’s Petting Zoo. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources will also provide educational outdoor exhibits, including a large native fish aquarium and opportunities to meet conservation officers.

Entertainment lovers can watch Fisherman Dan’s OFF THE HOOK Show, Pompeyo’s Dog Show, Pro Wrestling Epic, and the Xtreme Strong Man exhibition. Visitors will also have the chance to view custom artwork by chainsaw artist Luca and receive personalized caricature drawings from Erin Scronce.

For those interested in shopping and local products, the Illinois Product Expo will feature food samples, handmade crafts, coffee, honey, seasonings, and many other products from Illinois vendors. The Rusty Truck Vintage Market will offer unique shopping opportunities while supporting local small businesses.

Monster truck fans can enjoy free photo opportunities with FULL THROTTLE Monster Trucks, while prospective students and alumni can visit Saluki Central at the Fair for information, promotions, and university merchandise.

The Du Quoin State Fair continues to provide affordable entertainment, educational experiences, shopping opportunities, and family activities, making it a popular destination for visitors seeking fun, learning, and community engagement throughout the event.
