Illinois EPA Grant Program for Energy Efficiency

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering grants to fund energy efficiency upgrades at single-family or duplex residential properties in areas of environmental justice concern. The grants will benefit residents receiving housing assistance from a state or federal housing assistance program.

Up to $5 million in funding is available. Eligible projects include window replacement, heating and cooling equipment retrofits, and lighting upgrades. Total project costs may range from $25,000 to $500,000.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information and to apply, visit the Illinois EPA website.

Who is eligible to apply?

Eligible applicants include public housing authorities, units of local government, or nonprofit organizations. How to apply:
