Girl Scout STEM Program at WIU Saturday

A Girl Scout science technology, engineering and math (STEM) program will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. March 4 in Currens Hall, on the Western Illinois University campus.

Approximately 85 Girl Scouts (at all levels, K-12th grade, Daisy Scouts through Ambassador Scouts) signed up for the event.

Many of the WIU science faculty will serve as team leaders for the event. They will lead STEM activities for the Girl Scouts needed to allow them to earn their badges.

Approximately 30 WIU students from different student organizations, such as the Chemistry Club, Forensic Chemistry Club, Women in Science and Biology students, volunteered to be Girl Scout "buddies" to help them perform their specific STEM activities.
