Ewing Agronomy Field Day Brings Experts And Insights For Farmers

By Andi Anderson

The Ewing Demonstration Center is preparing to host its annual Agronomy Field Day, offering a valuable learning opportunity for farmers, students, and agricultural professionals. The event will take place on on Thursday, July 23, at 9 a.m., followed by a complimentary lunch for all attendees. This program aims to share useful knowledge and practical ideas that can help improve crop productivity and farm management.

The center has a long history of supporting agriculture, serving the farming community for more than a century. It is known for conducting important research on crops such as corn, soybeans, sorghum, wheat, and cover crops. The site is especially recognized for its long running no till research, which has provided helpful insights into sustainable farming practices. The local conditions at the center make it an ideal place for testing and demonstrating effective agricultural methods.

The field day will begin with a welcome session led by agricultural experts and educators. After the introduction, participants will move to different field stations where they can attend a variety of presentations. These sessions are designed to provide clear and easy to understand information for farmers looking to improve their practices.

Topics covered during the event will include disease management and the economic benefits of using fungicides. Experts will also explain how farmers can make better decisions about phosphorus and potassium use based on local research data. Another important session will focus on biological products and biostimulants, discussing both current knowledge and future possibilities in crop production.

In addition, attendees will learn about different cover crop systems and strategies that can improve soil health and increase long term farm productivity. These sessions will be led by experienced researchers and extension specialists who understand the needs of local growers.

The event is free to attend, and participants will also have the chance to earn Certified Crop Advisor credits. With its combination of expert guidance, practical demonstrations, and networking opportunities, this field day promises to be both informative and beneficial for everyone involved.
