The Western Illinois University (WIU) Ag Mech Farm Expo is back for its 53rd year, taking place on Feb. 8-9 at Western Hall. Organized by the WIU School of Agriculture - Agricultural Mechanization Club, this is one of the largest student-run agricultural expos in the country.
The event will showcase the latest in farm machinery, tractors, agricultural services, emerging technology, and livestock and crop supplies.
Attendees can explore conservation and agricultural structures while engaging with industry professionals. A variety of craft vendors will be set up on the upper level of Western Hall, offering handmade products and unique items.
Families can enjoy free children's activities, including a bouncy house, face painting, and glitter tattoos. The expo provides an opportunity for networking and discovering the newest advancements in agriculture.
The expo runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9. Exhibitor registration remains open until 9 p.m. today. Rows A1-F1 in Q Lot, west of the west gate, will be closed through Feb. 9, but all other parking areas will remain open for regular use.
This event is a must-visit for farmers, students, and agriculture enthusiasts looking to stay updated on industry trends and innovations.
