State Senator Sally Turner continues her commitment to supporting Illinois agriculture by hosting the annual Agricultural Advisory Committee meeting. Held at the Central Illinois Ag facility in Atlanta, Illinois, the meeting provided a platform for over 40 farmers, farm bureau representatives, and agricultural leaders from across the 44th Senate District to engage in meaningful dialogue.
At the April 3rd meeting, attendees had the opportunity to delve into current agricultural legislation under review in the General Assembly and engage in open discussions about pressing agricultural issues. Senator Turner emphasized the importance of hearing directly from industry stakeholders to shape effective agricultural policies for the state.
"Agriculture is the backbone of Illinois, driving economic growth and job creation," stated Sen. Turner. "As a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, it's crucial for me to connect with the hardworking men and women in this industry and address their concerns."
The meeting featured insights from Director Jerry Costello of the Illinois Department of Agriculture and Executive Vice-President Jeff Adkisson of the Illinois Grain and Feed Association. Their perspectives provided valuable context and information for attendees.
