Piper Steinacher, a member of the Carrollton FFA Chapter within the Illinois Association FFA, has been honored with the prestigious Illinois Future Farmers of America (FFA) Supervised Occupational Experience (SOE) Award in business and finance systems. This recognition underscores Steinacher's exceptional achievements in work-based agricultural education and career preparation.
Introduced this year by the Illinois FFA, the SOE Awards acknowledge students across six distinct Supervised Occupational Experience areas, reflecting their practical learning experiences outside the classroom. Steinacher's success in the business and finance category highlights her proficiency and dedication in this specialized field.
Steinacher's outstanding contributions will be celebrated at the 96th Illinois FFA State Convention in Springfield, scheduled for June 11-13. This recognition serves as a testament to her exemplary skills in record keeping, leadership, and scholastic achievement, all essential attributes for success in agricultural careers.
The Supervised Occupational Experience program enables students like Steinacher to engage in hands-on learning experiences, whether through owning and operating a business, interning at a company, or conducting agricultural experiments. Steinacher's selection as the state winner reflects her exceptional performance and commitment in this endeavor.
A panel of esteemed judges, comprising agriculture educators, industry professionals, and community members, rigorously evaluated Steinacher's achievements based on her online records and conducted interviews on March 23 at Mount Zion High School. Her exemplary track record, supported by her parents Marty and Rebecca Steinacher, solidified her position as the state winner.
In addition to her notable accomplishment, Steinacher serves as the Section 13 FFA treasurer and actively participates in various FFA contests, including Job Interview, Land Use, and Dairy Food Products. Her multifaceted involvement underscores her dedication to agricultural education and leadership development within the FFA community.
