Congressman Bob Latta and Congresswoman Robin Kelly have reintroduced the Precision Agriculture Satellite Connectivity Act, a bill designed to help farmers integrate advanced technology into their operations.
This legislation focuses on improving satellite connectivity, allowing farmers to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Previously introduced in the 118th Congress, the bill passed the U.S. House with strong bipartisan support, receiving a 409-11 vote on April 26, 2023.
The reintroduction aims to build on this momentum, ensuring that farmers nationwide can benefit from improved access to modern agricultural tools.
Farmers rely on technology to maximize crop yields and optimize farming operations. Congressman Latta emphasized the importance of this bill, stating that farmers in Ohio and across the country need access to advanced agricultural technology to maintain high productivity. He remains hopeful for swift approval in this Congress.
Congresswoman Kelly highlighted the significance of the bill for Illinois farmers, noting that the number of farms in Illinois’s Second District has more than doubled. Many of these farms are family-owned and play a crucial role in food production.
She expressed her commitment to ensuring that farmers can use innovative technologies to improve efficiency and profitability.
