There were 5.8 days suitable for field work during the week ending Sunday. Statewide, the average temperature was 28.1 degrees, 14.2 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.15 inches, 0.55 inches below normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 12 percent very short, 19 percent short, 68 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 13 percent very short, 23 percent short, and 64 percent adequate.

Corn harvested for grain reached 97 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 95 percent.

Winter wheat emerged reached 79 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 87 percent. Winter wheat condition was 4 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 55 percent fair, 28 percent good, and 7 percent excellent.
