Illinois Milk Promotion Board Seeks Dairy Farmer Directors

By Andi Anderson

The Illinois Milk Promotion Board (IMPB) is inviting active dairy farmers from District 2 or District 4 to join its board of directors. As a dairy farmer director, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of the dairy industry in Illinois.

Prospective directors for the District 2 seat should hail from Adams, Brown, Bureau, Carroll, Cass, Champaign, DeWitt, Douglas, Fulton, Grundy, Hancock, Henderson, Henry, Iroquois, Jo Daviess, Kankakee, Kendall, Knox, Lasalle, Lee, Livingston, Logan, Macon, Marshall, Mason, McDonough, McLean, Menard, Mercer, Moultrie, Peoria, Piatt, Putnam, Rock Island, Schuyler, Stark, Tazewell, Vermilion, Warren, Whiteside, or Woodford counties. Meanwhile, candidates for the District 4 seat must come from Alexander, Clay, Crawford, Edwards, Effingham, Fayette, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Johnson, Lawrence, Marion, Massac, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Randolph, Richland, Saline, St. Clair, Union, Wabash, Washington, Wayne, White, or Williamson counties.

The IMPB, entirely composed of dairy farmers, manages the investment of the 10-cent checkoff received from Illinois farmers’ milk checks. With an annual investment of nearly $2 million, the IMPB allocates check-off funds to qualified organizations conducting research, promotion, advertising, and nutrition education programs within Illinois.

If you're interested in serving as a director, reach out to Tasha Bunting, IMPB manager, at tbunting@ilfb.org or 309-557-2993 to obtain a petition. Completed petitions must be postmarked by July 31. The election will take place via ballot during September.

Join the IMPB board and contribute to the growth and prosperity of the Illinois dairy industry!
