Commercial fruit and vegetable growers face many challenges in production. The 2025 Southern Illinois Fruit and Vegetable School aims to address these issues with practical, research-based solutions. Scheduled for February 12 in Mt. Vernon, the event is a must-attend for Southern Illinois and Missouri growers.
Program Overview
The school provides the latest research and trends to support commercial growers. Industry experts will cover insect and disease management, along with other vital production topics. This year, the program offers three distinct tracks focusing on vegetable production, tree fruits, and cut flowers.
Event Details
The event will take place at the Doubletree Meeting & Event Center, located at 222 Potomac Boulevard, Mt. Vernon, Illinois. It runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., with registration starting at 7:45 a.m. Lunch is not included, allowing attendees to explore local options.
Resources and Vendors
Attendees will receive a supplement to the 2023-2024 Midwest Fruit Pest Management Guide. Full spray guides will be available for purchase onsite for $15. Additionally, vendors will be present to discuss production needs and provide expert advice on farming essentials.
Registration Information
Early registration costs $35 per farm if completed by February 1. After this date or at the door, registration increases to $50 per farm.
