AGCO Invites Farmers to Share Stories

AGCO Invites Farmers to Share Stories

By Jamie Martin

AGCO has introduced Legacies of the Land, a national storytelling campaign designed to celebrate generations of farming families. The program aims to mark the United States 250th anniversary by recognizing the long-standing contributions of agriculture to society.

Through this initiative, farmers and their families are encouraged to share stories about their farming journey. Submissions can include photos, videos, and written experiences, which will be displayed on an interactive online platform. The campaign helps build a shared space where agricultural history comes alive.

The initiative is based on the idea that personal farm stories are part of a larger national story. By collecting these experiences, AGCO aims to highlight the resilience, dedication, and strong values that define farming communities.

The campaign begins by featuring three well-known family farms. These are Lehenbauer Farms in Missouri, Matthews Land and Cattle in Idaho, and Riney Dairy in Kentucky. Each farm represents multiple generations and shows how practices and values have been passed over time.

"I hope that 100 or 200 years from now, somebody can sit here and share how we helped leave the world in a better place," said Mark Lehenbauer, whose family has farmed in Missouri for generations.

"Every farming family has a story worth telling, rooted in resilience, stewardship and love for the land," said Eric Hansotia, AGCO's Chairman, President & CEO. "Legacies of the Land gives farmers a way to share their experiences and help preserve them for this generation and the ones that follow. We are proud to help honor these families and recognize their place in America's history."

John Riney, who continues a tenth-generation farming tradition, shared that understanding his family history strengthened his appreciation for their legacy.

Farmers and communities are invited to participate and contribute during the summer season.
