Western Illinois University Human Resource Management student Shania Manning attended the 2023 National Retail Federation (NRF) Foundation Student Program.
Manning was selected to attend because of her passion and dedication to the fashion and retail industry.
"She has been instrumental in bringing a fashion-forward focus for interested students to the WIU Marketing Club," said School of Management and Marketing Assistant Professor Susan Creasey.
The NRF Student program allows students to engage in experiential tours and talks, listen to inspiring speakers, attend interactive breakout sessions and gain invaluable executive mentoring and career recruiting opportunities.
Creasey and Manning were among 1,057 students, 124 educators, 105 mentors, 41 speakers and 150 recruiters who attended the NRF Student Program this year.
"My biggest takeaway from this trip is to be aggressive about what you want, " said Manning. "This conference pushed me to go out there and create connections."
The School of Management and Marketing will attend the NRF Student Program in 2024 in hopes of providing more SOMM students with lasting experiences.
