The weekly national posted prices for peanuts, effective from May 8 to May 14, 2024, have been announced. These prices, used for various agricultural financial calculations, offer insights into the market trends for different types of peanuts. The next announcement is scheduled for May 14, 2024, at 3:00 pm Eastern Time.
Here are the posted prices for various peanut types:
- Runner peanuts: $425.29 per ton
- Spanish peanuts: $413.12 per ton
- Valencia peanuts: $431.71 per ton
- Virginia peanuts: $431.71 per ton
These prices are based on the loan rates for the 2023-crop peanuts, announced on June 1, 2023. They play a crucial role in determining alternative loan repayment rates for marketing assistance loans and loan deficiency payments.
