The 2025 Northwest Illinois Agronomy Summit is set to take place tomorrow at Highland Community College Student Conference Center in Freeport. Organized by Illinois Extension, this event provides corn and soybean producers with the latest research updates and tools for effective farm management.

With rapid advancements in agricultural research and technology, the summit aims to help farmers stay informed about the best practices to optimize their operations. Key sessions include insights on biologicals in Illinois row crops, nutrient management, and weed control strategies for the upcoming growing season.

The summit’s agenda includes presentations from top experts, such as Connor Sible on biologicals and crop management, John Jones on nutrient optimization, and Aaron Hager on weed management.

Participants will also hear updates from Highland Community College and engage with exhibitors during the event.

Attendees will benefit from four continuing education units (CEUs) for Certified Crop Advisers, covering nutrient management, crop management, and integrated pest management.

Registration cost was $25 and includes access to all sessions, exhibits, light refreshments, and lunch.

This year, Illinois Extension Agronomy Summits have expanded to six locations across the state, offering customized sessions tailored to local agricultural challenges. The events focus on practical solutions, equipping farmers with tools for sustained success.
