The Illinois Sustainable Ag Partnership (ISAP) has recently expanded its network by welcoming four new member organizations.
The Illinois Farm Bureau, Illinois Nutrient Research and Education Council, Savanna Institute, and Saving Tomorrow’s Agriculture Resources are the latest to join ISAP.
These additions will further strengthen ISAP’s mission to support a systems approach to improve soil health and reduce nutrient loss throughout Illinois.
These new members bring a wealth of expertise and resources to help ISAP address the goals set out by the Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy (NLRS). This strategy is designed to reduce nutrient runoff from farms, which affects water quality and the overall health of the environment.
By collaborating with these new organizations, ISAP is positioned to reach a broader audience and promote sustainable agriculture practices across the farming community.
Keegan Kult, the president and executive director of the Agricultural Drainage Management Coalition, expressed excitement about the new additions. He believes the unique perspectives and expertise of these members will enhance ISAP’s ability to make a meaningful impact.
"We are thrilled to welcome our new partners," Kult said. "Their contributions will strengthen our collective efforts to promote sustainable farming practices and reduce nutrient loss."
ISAP's work is crucial in helping Illinois farmers adopt sustainable practices while ensuring productive and profitable farming. With the new members on board, the partnership is set to build stronger collaboration and engage with more farmers across the state.
This expansion allows ISAP to continue its leadership role in promoting sustainable agriculture, ultimately benefiting both farmers and the environment.
By working together, ISAP and its new members aim to ensure long-term success in soil health and nutrient management, contributing to a more sustainable future for agriculture.
