The Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA) will reach its goal of donating 1 million pounds of pork when it makes a donation to the Central Illinois Food Bank in Springfield Dec. 13 at 11 a.m.
As part of the Pork Power: Partnering to Fight Hunger in Illinois campaign, IPPA will top off its 1 million pounds of donated pork -- over 3.3 million servings -- through the state's food banks.
Attending Tuesday's donation ceremony will be IPPA President Thomas Titus, IPPA directors and staff members, Illinois Soybean Association staff, Illinois Association of Meat Processors Executive Secretary Dianne Handsacker, and Kris Sterbinsky of Turasky Meats.
