The Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA) is excited to announce the opening of applications for the FALL IPPA Food Service Grant. High school teachers in Illinois are invited to apply for this grant, which provides funding for the purchase of PORK to be utilized in culinary, food service, and consumer education classes.
Eligible schools may receive one grant per calendar year, and priority will be given to schools that have not yet received a grant. Teachers who were awarded a grant in 2022 are welcome to reapply for the 2023 grant.
The grant aims to support Illinois high school culinary, food service, and consumer education classes in educating students about pork production and cooking with pork as a protein source. The pork purchased with this grant will be incorporated into teacher-selected recipes and prepared by students, either in-person or virtually.
Applications must be submitted by the end of August 31, 2023. A committee will review the applications, and notification of grant recipients will be sent by September 13th.
Funds will be awarded on a reimbursement basis to the school, following the completion of the cooking class and submission of a final report. Activities and the final report must be completed by December 8, 2023. Grants will reimburse up to $250.00 specifically for the purchase of pork, and receipts documenting the pork purchases must be included with the final report to secure reimbursement.
