ILLINOIS WEATHER

Illinois Wet Ahead of Spring Planting

March was very wet for most of Illinois.

The USDA says average statewide rainfall topped 4.5 inches, more than two inches above normal, stalling fieldwork and early planting in parts of the state, but setting the stage for the growing season.

The average statewide temperature was fractionally warmer than usual.
