The Illinois State Fair is giving families more chances to save on fair fun by extending ticket and Mega Pass office hours ahead of the 2025 event. This move comes as part of an effort to make the fair more affordable and convenient for everyone.
The Grandstand Box Office will have special hours on Thursday, July 24, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, August 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. During regular days before the fair, the office operates Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and during the fair, it stays open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased online at Ticketmaster, but buying in person avoids extra fees.
Fairgoers can purchase tickets not only for the Grandstand Concert Series but also for events like the Monsters of Destruction, Wooten Rodeo, Truck and Tractor Pulls, and Demolition Derby. Auto racing events include the USAC Bettenhausen 100 and Menards Series Springfield 100.
Illinois State Fair Director Jerry Costello II stated, “Extended box office hours make it easier to come out and buy tickets in person to save money.”
Mega Passes, which allow unlimited carnival rides, are currently available for $80 until July 31. After that, prices increase. To help families grab this deal, the Mega Pass Office will also extend its hours on select days including July 24, July 26, and August 2, with additional extended hours August 4–6.
Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark said, “The Mega Pass is one of the best tools to save money at the Fair.”
Discount Admission Books and Infield Parking Passes are also available to make visiting more affordable. Families can avoid long lines by picking up their passes early during extended hours or by ordering online at StateFair.Illinois.gov.
