Illinois Soybean Growers (ISG) has welcomed the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s approval of a new group of crop protection products designed to help farmers manage weeds, protect yields, and support sustainable soybean production.
The newly approved tools include several products tailored for soybean farming, making the decision especially significant for Illinois growers. Farmers continue to face challenges such as herbicide-resistant weeds, pest pressures, and the need to maintain productivity while adopting soil-health practices like cover crops.
“We appreciate EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin and the agency for moving these registrations forward and giving farmers access to additional tools they need to make timely, responsible decisions on their farms,” said Illinois Soybean Growers Chairman Bryan Severs.
The approvals are part of broader federal efforts to strengthen regenerative agriculture and improve farm resilience. ISG noted that timely reviews of modern agricultural products are important to ensuring growers have access to innovative technologies that support efficient production, profitability, and sustainability.
The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) and Illinois Soybean Growers represent more than 43,000 soybean farmers across the state. Through research, market development, education, advocacy, and government relations initiatives, the organization works to support farmer success and promote the long-term growth of Illinois soybean production.
