The Endangered Species Act (ESA) plays a crucial role in protecting threatened and endangered species. However, recent advocacy efforts by environmental groups have led to policy changes that could impact Illinois farmers’ access to necessary crop protection tools.
To help farmers understand these evolving regulations, the Illinois Soybean Association, Illinois Corn, and Illinois Farm Bureau are organizing a series of workshops across the state.
These workshops aim to equip farmers with the latest knowledge about ESA policies, ensuring they stay informed about how changes may affect their agricultural practices. Each session will feature university specialists and key agency representatives who will provide in-depth insights into the new regulations.
Farmers attending these events will gain practical guidance on adapting to policy shifts while maintaining sustainable farming practices.
The workshops will be held at multiple locations:
- Feb. 26 – Geneseo, IL
- Mar. 4 – Bloomington, IL
- Mar. 10 – Marion, IL
- Mar. 11 – Champaign, IL (email bailiey@ccfarmbureau.com to register)
- Mar. 13 – Smithton, IL
- Mar. 25 – Ottawa, IL
Illinois farmers should not miss this opportunity to stay updated and prepared. These workshops offer valuable information and expert advice to help them navigate regulatory changes effectively. Registration links are available for each event.
