Alan Hopkins Honored with ISPFMRA Service to Agriculture Award

By Andi Anderson

Alan Hopkins of Normal, Illinois, was recognized with the prestigious Service to Agriculture Award by the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ISPFMRA).

The award, presented by Russ Hiatt, AFM, ARA, at the organization’s annual meeting in Peoria on February 6, is the highest honor given to non-managers and non-appraisers in the agricultural sector.

Hopkins recently retired from Pioneer/Corteva after more than 35 years in the ag chemical and seed industry. He began his career after graduating from Southern Illinois University and has since held various roles, including territory manager, product agronomist, area sales manager, and farm manager coordinator.

During the award presentation, Hiatt highlighted Hopkins’ commitment to building strong industry relationships and his dedication to serving clients with professionalism and expertise. “His service to clients has been the epitome of what industry/client relationships should be,” Hiatt stated.

The Service to Agriculture Award has been presented since 1940, recognizing individuals from various sectors, including government, media, agricultural organizations, universities, and Extension services. Hopkins now joins a distinguished group of professionals acknowledged for their impact on the agricultural industry.
