The 2025 Illinois Land Values Conference is set to take place on March 27 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Bloomington. Organized by the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ISPFMRA), the annual event will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude just before noon.
This year’s conference will feature a keynote speech by Dr. David Kohl, professor emeritus at Virginia Tech, who will discuss the current economic landscape of agriculture.
Following this, Alec Bean, CEO of Agricultural Soil Management, will present insights on Section 180 tax deductions for farmland. His session will focus on how land buyers can optimize tax savings through residual fertility deductions and strategic farmland investments.
Another highlight of the event will be the presentation of the results from ISPFMRA’s latest survey on farmland values and leasing trends across Illinois. Attendees will receive a printed copy of the Farmland Values and Lease Trends Report, which details the latest market insights.
For the first time, the report will also be available as a free downloadable PDF on the ISPFMRA website. Printed copies will be available at the conference for $8, while mailed copies will cost $20.
The registration fee for the conference is $90 for ISPFMRA members and Realtors Land Institute members and $100 for others. This fee includes one printed copy of the report. No advance registration is required, and attendees can pay at the door on March 27.
