ACES Global Academy Announced for 2022-23



The College of Agricultural, Environmental and Consumer Sciences (ACES) Office of International Programs is pleased to present the 2022-23 Academy for Global Engagement (Global Academy).

In its f15th year, the Global Academy is an annual program that seeks to build and support capacity for international partnerships that can enable faculty and staff in the College of ACES to achieve greater impact in their work. The program includes a series of on-campus seminars, roundtable discussions, and events that will serve to build ties with potential collaborators at French academic institutions and research centers. The program concludes with an organized visit to selected partner institutions in France.

This year's members include:

Shadi Atallah - Agricultural and Consumer Economics

Xinyuan Dai - Political Science (Co-Sponsored by the European Union Center)

Sarah Farley - Extension

Trent Ford - Prairie Research Institute

Aaron Hager - Crop Sciences

Angela Kent - Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences

Melissa Prescott - Food Science and Human Nutrition

Alfred Roca - Animal Sciences

Josie Rudolphi - Agricultural and Biological Engineering

The theme for the 2022-23 Global Academy is "Climate Change, Agriculture, and Household Wellbeing: Sustainable Solutions for Mitigating Risk and Increasing Global Food System Resiliency." Proposed strategic partner institutions include INRAE- National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment, University of Montpellier, and the University of Toulouse.

The cohort will pursue research topics that include new food systems innovations, reducing crop loss and food waste, securing resilient value chains and livelihoods, predicting household responses, enhancing household wellbeing in response to climate change, etc.
