Illinois State Fair Launches Countdown with Food and Fun

Illinois State Fair Launches Countdown with Food and Fun

By Andi Anderson

The Illinois State Fair is celebrating its 100-day countdown with a lively public event on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

Taking place from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Reisch Pavilion on the Illinois State Fairgrounds, this special “100 Days Out” celebration aims to build excitement ahead of the fair’s return from August 7 to 17.

Guests can enjoy a variety of fan-favorite foods during the event. Vendors include Taft’s Mr. Ribeye, Food Baby, 17th Street Barbecue, Vose’s Korndogs, and Hae’s Bakery & Coffee Shoppe. This tasting experience offers a sneak peek at the delicious treats visitors can expect during the fair in August.

In addition to sampling food, attendees have a chance to win a major prize. Each food item purchased earns a raffle ticket entry for the ultimate Illinois State Fair prize package—two track tickets to every Grandstand concert in 2025. Attendees do not need to be present to win, making it easy for everyone to participate.

The event also features exclusive deals on discounted mega passes, jumbo passes, admission booklets, and parking passes. It’s a perfect opportunity to stock up on money-saving options ahead of the fair.

“This 100 Days Out Celebration is an opportunity to look ahead in anticipation for the 2025 Illinois State Fair, which promises to be the biggest and best yet,” said Jerry Costello II, Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Rebecca Clark, Illinois State Fair Manager, added, “It’s a great way to sample some of the Fair’s most beloved foods and get the community energized for what’s to come in August.”

The 100 Days Out event is free for the public, and parking on the fairgrounds is also free. With great food, fun prizes, and savings, this kickoff event offers a perfect start to the summer fair season.
