Nonprofit organizations and educational institutions in Illinois and Missouri have a new opportunity to receive financial support for projects that promote education in the field of production agriculture. The Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois & Northeast Missouri is accepting grant applications for programs that aim to educate and inspire students about careers and innovations in agriculture.
The grants are targeted at nonprofit educational institutions and 501(c)(3) organizations located in 12 eligible counties, with a strong focus on four counties in Illinois: Adams, Brown, Hancock, and Pike. These counties are encouraged to propose educational projects that support the development of skills and knowledge in the agriculture sector.
Programs applying for funding must involve and directly benefit students. The grant will support specific projects or program activities, but not general operational costs or scholarships.
A total of $75,000 is available for distribution in 2025, with individual grants of up to $15,000. However, applicants should note that they may receive partial funding based on the Foundation’s evaluation of each proposal.
Priority will be given to projects that:
- Enhance education in production agriculture
- Motivate students toward agricultural careers
- Provide training in modern agricultural technologies and techniques that improve efficiency, productivity, and safety
These grants aim to build a stronger, more skilled agricultural workforce and promote innovation in farming practices across the region.
“This funding is an investment in the future of agriculture, empowering young minds to lead the way in shaping tomorrow’s farming landscape,” said the Community Foundation.
Nonprofits operating within the specified Illinois counties are especially encouraged to apply and take advantage of this funding to strengthen agricultural education in their communities.
Applications must be submitted by May 15, 2025.
