Illinois holiday market showcases local products and activities

The Illinois Holiday Market is returning to Downtown Springfield from December 6 to 8 at the “Y Block,” near the Governor’s Mansion.

Organized by the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA), this market highlights local products and businesses, making it a perfect destination for holiday shopping.

The market will feature popular vendors like Rolling Lawns Farm, 17th St BBQ, MKS Meats, Ropp Jersey Cheese, and more.

Shoppers can also enjoy ready-to-eat treats like pierogies and Polish sausage. To support accessibility, LINK is accepted for eligible food purchases.

“The Illinois Holiday Market provides entrepreneurs with a platform to grow while supporting the local economy,” says IDOA Director Jerry Costello. This initiative helps small businesses thrive and promotes sustainable communities.

Visitors can participate in daily giveaways and take the Illinois Product Pledge, promising to spend $10 weekly on local items. Participants will receive a sticker to show their support for Illinois-made goods.

The event offers free family-friendly activities, including live music, ornament-making workshops, and opportunities for children to write letters to Santa. Santa himself will make appearances throughout the event.

For adults, the Illinois Wine tasting tent features wines from seven state wineries. Entry is $10 and includes six tasting tickets and a commemorative tumbler.

Additionally, IDOA introduces the Illinois Product Holiday Box, featuring nine unique local products. Available online, it’s the perfect gift for loved ones. Supplies are limited, so early orders are encouraged.

Market hours are:

Friday, December 6: 4 p.m.–9 p.m. (Santa: 5 p.m.–7 p.m.)

Saturday, December 7: 11 a.m.–6 p.m. (Santa: 1 p.m.–4 p.m.)

Sunday, December 8: 11 a.m.–4 p.m. (Santa: 11 a.m.–2 p.m.)
