Illinois AFNR Report Showcases Growth in Agricultural Education

By Andi Anderson

The 2025 Illinois Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) Annual Report has been released, offering a clear look at the progress, achievements, and statewide impact of agricultural education and FFA programs across Illinois.

The report has been developed to inform teachers, students, families, and agricultural partners about the continued growth of AFNR programs in the state.

This year’s report highlights several accomplishments that reflect the strength of agricultural education in Illinois. It includes updates on classroom instruction, student leadership development, and community involvement across all regions.

Many schools have adopted new and creative teaching methods that help students understand agriculture, food systems, and natural resources in simple and engaging ways. These approaches aim to build strong foundations for future careers in agriculture.

A major highlight of the report is the continued success of Illinois FFA members. Their leadership activities, competitions, and service projects demonstrate commitment, teamwork, and dedication to improving their communities.

The report also recognizes the hard work of agricultural educators, who guide students and help strengthen local agricultural programs.

The digital version of the 2025 Illinois AFNR Annual Report is now available for anyone who wishes to review it. Stakeholders are encouraged to read and share the publication to spread awareness about the progress of agricultural education.

Making the report accessible helps build support for students, teachers, and school programs across the state.

Special appreciation is given to Casey Bolin, District 5 FCAE Program Advisor, for leading the development of the publication.

Thanks are also extended to Sierra Force, Graphic Designer at the Illinois State Board of Education, for creating the final layout and design. Their combined efforts helped produce a clear and professional report.

Printed copies of the publication will be available at the beginning of 2026. Teachers will also receive copies during the Winter Illinois Association of Vocational Agriculture Teachers (IAVAT) Section Meetings.

For more information or to request copies, individuals may contact the State Coordinator of the Facilitating Coordination in Agricultural Education (FCAE). The report serves as a reminder of the dedication, teamwork, and ongoing progress within Illinois agricultural education.
