Cheryl Walsh, from Princeville, Illinois, has been appointed the 2024 President of the Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA). As a fourth-generation pork producer, Cheryl owns and operates Cowser Inc., overseeing a sow farm, hay, and a cow-calf operation. Her commitment extends to Cowser Field & Feedlot, contributing to the growth of corn and soybeans, vital components of the sows' diet.
Cheryl's second term as an At Large Director on the IPPA board follows her recent role as the marketing committee chair. She values her connections with legislators, educators, and industry professionals, proudly being a voice for all pork producers.
Encouraging industry participation, Cheryl emphasizes the significance of sharing individual stories. "You are the only one who will get it right," she says. She actively engages in community initiatives, earning the affectionate title of "The Peoria County Pig Lady" in Ag in the Classroom.
In a recent IPPA meeting, delegates also elected the 2024 officer team: Vice President/Treasurer Josh Maschhoff from Nashville and Secretary Katie Brown from Morrisonville. Cheryl's presidency signifies a new era for sustainable practices and community engagement in the Illinois pork industry. Join the movement for a resilient and thriving future.
