Western Illinois University’s School of Agriculture will celebrate a milestone as it hosts the 30th Annual Agricultural Career Fair on Wednesday, October 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Union Grand Ballroom.
This long-standing event showcases the many career opportunities available across the agriculture industry and helps students connect with prospective employers.
The fair provides a valuable platform for students to explore a variety of agricultural professions, from agribusiness and technology to animal science and crop production.
Notable companies scheduled to attend include Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), Carthage Swine and Professional Swine Management, Jenner Ag, Prairieland FS, Sloan Implement Company, and Stine Seed Company.
School of Agriculture Director Keela Trennepohl emphasized the fair’s role in preparing students for success. “The ag career fair showcases WIU's industry partners, job opportunities in ag and is one of the many networking opportunities given to our students,” she said.
Companies do not need to have open positions or internships to participate, making the fair a unique chance for students to build relationships and learn directly from industry professionals. Vendors can register through Handshake and submit the $50 fee by credit card or mail to the WIU School of Agriculture.
The event is open to all WIU students, who must bring a valid student ID for entry. Professional attire is encouraged to create a strong first impression with potential employers.
For more details, students and employers can contact Keela Trennepohl at km-trennepohl@wiu.edu or visit wiu.edu/ag. This career fair continues a three-decade tradition of connecting students with the people and opportunities that shape the future of agriculture.
