Illinois FFA has released its January 2026 updates, providing important information on leadership programs, scholarships, awards, degree applications, and upcoming events.
These announcements support students, advisors, and chapters in planning activities that promote agricultural education and career readiness.
Students working toward the American FFA Degree must complete their applications by January 15, 2026. Degree interviews will be conducted through Zoom, and official FFA dress is required. Students needing to adjust interview schedules must contact the Illinois FFA Center directly.
Several scholarship opportunities are now available. The Sam Taylor Memorial Scholarship offers awards of $500 to $1,000 to graduating seniors and college students planning careers in agriculture, especially agricultural education.
Applications are due March 1, 2026. The Eldon Witt Scholarship supports agriculture education majors preparing for student teaching, with applications due April 1, 2026. The Will Cook Memorial Scholarship offers a $1,000 award for college students, also due March 1, 2026.
Honorary Illinois FFA State Degree nominations and applications are due April 1, 2026. This recognition honors individuals who have provided outstanding service to agricultural education and FFA programs across Illinois.
Reporter Award applications are also open. Top chapter and section reporters will be recognized at the Illinois FFA State Convention and may serve in the Farm Credit Newsroom. Selected applicants may also participate as flag bearers during the opening session.
Illinois FFA also announced an international learning opportunity. Eligible FFA members ages 18 to 21 may apply for the Ireland Agriculture Tour scheduled for June 20 through July 1, 2026. The tour includes visits focused on dairy, beef, grains, sheep, and Irish agricultural destinations.
Leadership development continues through upcoming conferences and events. The Women Changing the Face of Agriculture conferences will be held at two Illinois college locations in March and April, offering leadership learning for students.
Ground Zero leadership conferences and state officer orientation programs are also scheduled to strengthen youth leadership and chapter involvement.
Together, these January updates reflect Illinois FFA’s commitment to supporting students through scholarships, leadership training, awards, and global learning opportunities that prepare future agricultural leaders.
