Ogle County livestock farmer Brian Duncan secured the presidency at the Illinois Farm Bureau's annual meeting. Duncan, succeeding Richard Guebert Jr., brings a wealth of agricultural experience to his new role. As the former IFB vice president, Duncan's focus remains on farm profitability and overcoming industry barriers.
In his agenda, Duncan emphasizes expanding the biofuels market and promoting a robust international trade agenda. The IFB, under his leadership, aims to alleviate regulatory burdens for members. Despite 2023's challenges, including a statewide drought, Duncan underscores the industry's resilience and plans to address lingering issues in trade, biofuels, and overall product demand in 2024.
A graduate of Sauk Valley Community College, Duncan, along with his wife Kelly, manages a farm near Polo. With strong ties to Ogle County, Duncan, known for his livestock expertise, represents the entire state in his new role. Balancing IFB responsibilities with farm work, he anticipates a time-consuming yet fulfilling journey as president.
