IAW Offers 23 Scholarships for Females Studying Ag
Illinois Ag Connection - 02/21/2020
The Illinois Agri-Women (IAW) organization announced it has up to 23 scholarships available to females studying agriculture. IAW supports the agriculture industry, works for legislation to support and preserve family farms, communicates with other agriculture organizations, and strives to educate the public and promote agricultural awareness.
A $1,500 IAW Agriculture Education Scholarship is for an agriculture education major who is finishing the degree in the next year.
Two $1,000 WCFA Agent of Change Scholarships are offered to students who have attended at least one Women Changing the Face of Agriculture Conference. One scholarship is for a high school senior and one for a current graduate student.
Twenty $1000 WCFA Agent of Change Scholarships are offered to current college students. An anonymous foundation sponsor will provide matching scholarship funds for donations from 2020 WCFA new or current company sponsors. The scholarships will encourage WCFA student participants to further their education in an agriculture, energy and food related career track; create a strong bond/mentor opportunity for students and company participants; and, potentially a job shadow experience.
Students who wish to be considered for this scholarship should sign up to volunteer for WCFA and attend the professional development meeting the night before the WCFA event. Current college students who attend both the March 5 IAW Professional Development Event and volunteer for the March 6 WCFA are eligible to apply.
