Illinois 4-H Auction Opens New Doors

By Andi Anderson

The Illinois 4-H Experience Auction is returning from September 18 to September 20, providing supporters with an opportunity to bid on exclusive experiences and unique memorabilia while helping create more opportunities for young people across Illinois.

The annual online auction features 24 one-of-a-kind experiences and specialty items. Interested bidders can preview all auction packages before placing their bids. Bidding opens at 8 a.m. Central Time on September 18 and continues through September 20.

Illinois 4-H is part of University of Illinois Extension within the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. As one of the largest youth development organizations in the United States, Illinois 4-H reaches nearly 200,000 young people throughout the state each year. Through its programs, youth gain valuable skills in leadership, education, career readiness, and personal development.

This year's auction includes several exciting opportunities that are not available through regular travel or entertainment providers. Featured packages include private air travel paired with a weeklong stay near the famous Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman. Other offerings include luxury mountain vacations in Steamboat Springs and Park City, along with special access to Fighting Illini Basketball events.

Sports fans can also bid on exclusive game-worn Final Four memorabilia. Families looking for memorable experiences will find adventure packages designed to create lasting memories. The auction additionally showcases distinctive Illinois experiences, highlighting attractions and activities found within the state.

Funds raised through the auction directly benefit Illinois 4-H programs. These programs help young people discover their interests, strengthen leadership abilities, explore potential career paths, and prepare for future success. The support generated through fundraising efforts allows Illinois 4-H to continue expanding educational opportunities for youth from diverse backgrounds and communities.

The Illinois 4-H Experience Auction is presented by the Illinois 4-H Foundation. Its volunteer Board of Directors works throughout the year to strengthen Illinois 4-H and increase opportunities for young people across the state.

"The Illinois 4-H Experience Auction is a testament to what can happen when alumni, friends, and industry partners come together to invest in the next generation," said Brian Deverman, chair of the Illinois 4-H Foundation Board of Directors and the global senior product director at BRANDT. "Our board is proud to help bring together these one-of-a-kind experiences because every bid helps ensure more young people have access to the life-changing opportunities that Illinois 4-H provides."

Individuals interested in learning more about the auction or contributing an experience for future events may contact Angie Barnard at abarnard@illinois.edu. Through community support and participation, the auction continues to create meaningful opportunities for Illinois youth and strengthen the future of the state's next generation of leaders.
