Western Illinois University (WIU) will hold its 53rd Annual Bull Sale on Friday, March 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the WIU Livestock Center in Macomb. This annual event will feature a selection of high-quality bulls, including Angus, Simmental, Percentage Simmental, and Red Angus.
Hosted at 2265 Wigwam Hollow Road, the sale highlights WIU’s dedication to livestock excellence and provides hands-on learning for students. This long-standing tradition allows agriculture students to gain practical experience in livestock evaluation, breeding, and marketing. Proceeds from the event contribute to WIU’s agriculture programs, supporting educational opportunities and industry-focused training.
"This is a unique hands-on opportunity for WIU students and a tradition that spans over 53 years. Not only are we providing quality bull genetics to Western Illinois and beyond, but differentiating our college experience from the masses," said WIU Ag Associate Professor Keela Trennepohl.
The annual bull sale reflects WIU’s commitment to advancing livestock education and strengthening the agriculture sector. Those interested in learning more or accessing the sale catalog can visit WIU’s agriculture website.
