The American Soybean Association (ASA) and Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) have opened nominations for their 2025 board elections. These roles offer soybean producers a chance to shape future agricultural policies and programs.
The ASA is accepting applications for three board positions. Directors can serve up to three three-year terms. To qualify, candidates must be members of the Illinois Soybean Growers (ISG), actively engaged in soybean production, not serve on another national soybean board, and must be elected by the ISG Board of Directors.
Final interviews and elections will occur at the ISG board meeting in July 2025, with official seating set for December in St. Louis. Applications are due by 4:00 PM CT on July 9, 2025.
The ISA is also holding elections for six district board seats across Illinois, including Districts 3, 4, 6, 8, 15, and 18. Candidates must be legal Illinois residents, contribute to the soybean checkoff, and reside within the district.
Directors serve three-year terms and may be re-elected for up to three terms. Petitions must be submitted to the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) by 5:00 PM CT on May 15, 2025. Write-in candidates must file a Declaration of Intent by June 27, 2025.
District elections will be held on July 8, 2025, at University of Illinois County Extension Offices. For forms or questions, contact Dustin Scott at dustin.scott@ilsoy.org or call 309-846-3673.
This is a key opportunity for soybean growers to lead and represent their communities in state and national agriculture.
