The Southern Illinois Farming Alliance Conference, organized by Food Works and supported by the Illinois Stewardship Alliance, is set to take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the John A. Logan College Conference Center.

This half-day event will focus on sustainable agriculture and the growth of resilient farming communities in Southern Illinois.

Farmers, homesteaders, agriculture educators, students, and food system advocates will gather to share insights, innovations, and experiences that promote healthy soils, nutritious food, and sustainable living.

The conference provides an excellent platform for participants to connect with experts, learn about current agricultural trends, and explore resources designed to support farms and homesteads.

Attendees can look forward to engaging sessions led by professionals in sustainable farming, covering topics such as soil health, local food production, and regenerative agricultural practices.

These discussions aim to inspire collaboration and strengthen networks among producers and educators dedicated to building stronger, environmentally responsible communities.

The event also encourages participants to explore innovative tools and techniques that improve farm productivity while protecting the natural environment. Through interactive sessions and networking opportunities, the conference fosters an inclusive atmosphere where ideas and best practices can be exchanged.

By bringing together key voices in the agriculture sector, the Southern Illinois Farming Alliance Conference continues to serve as a vital hub for promoting long-term sustainability in farming. It reflects a shared vision of building resilient agricultural systems that support both farmers and consumers across the region.
