Statewide, the average temperature was 22.1 degrees, 2.4 degrees below normal. Illinois precipitation averaged 1.12 inches, 0.34 inches below normal, according to USDA's National Ag Statistics Service.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 2 percent very short, 17 percent short, 70 percent adequate, and 11 percent surplus.

Subsoil moisture supply was rated 6 percent very short, 16 percent short, 70 percent adequate, and 8 percent surplus.

Winter wheat condition was 3 percent very poor, 12 percent poor, 43 percent fair, 33 percent good, and 9 percent excellent.
