17th Illinois product farmers market kicks off with fun & food

The Illinois Product Farmers Market opens its 17th season on Thursday, May 16th, from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm at The Shed on the Illinois State Fairgrounds. The market promises a vibrant atmosphere with local vendors, delicious food options, and engaging activities for all ages.

Indulge in fair favorites like lemon shake-ups and Cozy Dogs from Coleman's Concessions. For sweeter treats, Johnnie O's Mini Donuts and Michelle's Minis and More will satisfy your cravings. DeliciousLee Dishes and Hot Dog Pusher offer savory options like pony shoes and hot dogs.

Adding to the festivities, IDOA provides free entertainment, including Touch-A-Truck, balloon animals, face painting, and activities with local organizations.

Kids can participate in tie-dye crafting, market play, yard games, and meet zoo animals from Henson Robinson Zoo. Giveaways include museum tickets and live music by Not Petty.

Every visitor receives a free Illinois Product reusable bag. The Illinois State Fair prize wheel offers exciting prizes like show tickets, Illinois wine, and market cash.

  • 3:30 PM: Market Opens, Touch-A-Truck Begins, Balloon Artist & Face Painting Start
  • 4:00 PM: Prize Drawing
  • 4:30 PM & 5:00 PM: Prize Drawings
  • 5:00 PM: Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
  • 5:30 PM: Live Music by Not Petty & Prize Drawing
  • 6:00 PM, 6:30 PM & 7:00 PM: Prize Drawings

The Illinois Product Farmers Market runs every Thursday from May 16th through September 26th, excluding July 1st, August 1st, and the two Thursdays during the State Fair. The Illinois Product Fall Market will be held on Saturday, October 12th.

The market is at The Shed on the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Enter the Main Gate and turn right on Illinois Avenue for parking.

This family-friendly event boasts a diverse range of vendors, rotating food trucks, cooking demonstrations, and live music. Don't miss the chance to win "Market Cash" and AARP Illinois Product Baskets during weekly raffles.
