Vylor Charts Bold New Future for Corn Farmers

Vylor has revealed an extensive innovation roadmap that will shape the future of its corn business through 2035. The long-term strategy focuses on delivering stronger yields, improved crop protection, and advanced genetics to help farmers meet growing agricultural challenges.

The company plans to introduce seven new corn technology platforms over the next decade. These technologies are expected to cover most of its future corn portfolio and provide farmers with more choices and greater flexibility in managing their operations.

One of the most significant developments is a new yield and stability trait. In testing across the Americas, the technology demonstrated the ability to improve corn performance by delivering additional bushels per acre under a variety of growing conditions. The trait is designed to support stable production while helping maximize returns.

The roadmap begins with a planned launch in Latin America in 2028. The technology will focus on controlling fall armyworm, a major pest that affects corn production across the region. Along with insect protection, the platform will combine herbicide tolerance and yield enhancement features.

Future products are expected to include additional insect control solutions using new proprietary modes of action. These technologies are being developed to provide growers with more tools to manage pests effectively and reduce the risk of resistance.

"Corn is already one of the most planted crops in the world and its importance will only continue to grow. Our pipeline changes the game through 2035 with the industry's first-ever trait designed to improve yield and yield stability," said Sam Eathington, chief technology officer of the future Vylor.

He added, "In field trials across the Americas, corn with this trait took outstanding performance to a new level by delivering an incremental three bushels per acre on average, with gains of up to 10 bushels per acre1."

North American farmers are expected to see new technologies beginning in 2029. These products will combine advanced insect protection with proprietary yield traits to support higher productivity and stronger crop performance.

Another important innovation is a gene-edited multi-disease resistant corn platform. This technology is designed to protect crops from several common corn diseases, helping improve plant health and reduce production risks.

The company also plans to bring reduced stature corn to market. These shorter corn hybrids are expected to provide advantages in select production environments while supporting efficient crop management practices.

By 2031, Vylor intends to introduce a new below-ground insect control technology for corn rootworm. The platform will feature two non-Bt modes of action, including a plant-based solution that would represent a significant advancement in insect management.

Together, these innovations are expected to create a broad portfolio of advanced corn products that can be offered directly to farmers and through licensing agreements. The company believes this approach will expand market opportunities while increasing access to innovative technology.
