IL Corn Marketing Board (ICMB) Director Jon Rosenstiel has been elected Secretary-Treasurer of the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC). The election took place during the organization's 66th Annual Board of Delegates Meeting, marking an important milestone for Illinois agriculture and international grain trade.
As an Illinois farmer and a member of the IL Corn Marketing Board, Rosenstiel will help guide the international trade organization in its efforts to expand demand for U.S. agricultural products. The USGBC works to promote U.S. corn, ethanol, distillers grains, and other grain-based products in global markets.
Following his election, Rosenstiel expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to serve in the leadership position. He said, "Illinois farmers depend on strong international partnerships, and it's an honor to serve in this leadership role with the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council. I look forward to working alongside fellow farmer leaders and industry partners to continue building relationships, expanding market opportunities and ensuring customers around the world recognize the quality, reliability and sustainability of U.S. grain and bio-based products."
International trade continues to play a vital role in Illinois agriculture. Nearly half of the state's corn crop reaches customers beyond Illinois through domestic and international markets. Strong export demand helps support farmers, local economies, and the broader agricultural industry.
The U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council supports trade development in more than 70 countries. Through educational programs, technical support, and relationship-building efforts, the organization helps create new opportunities for U.S. grain and bio-based products around the world. These activities help strengthen market access and encourage long-term business partnerships.
Rosenstiel joins an experienced leadership team at the organization. The team includes incoming Chairman Jay Reiners of Nebraska, Vice Chairman Jay Fischer of Missouri, and Past Chairman Mark Wilson of the IL Corn Marketing Board. Together, they will help guide policies and programs that support international market growth.
IL Corn officials welcomed Rosenstiel's election and highlighted his commitment to agriculture and trade. Collin Watters, Director of Exports & Logistics for IL Corn, praised his leadership and industry knowledge. He said, "Jon has been a thoughtful advocate for Illinois farmers and understands the importance of growing demand for our products around the world. We're proud to see another Illinois farmer helping shape the future of international trade."
Rosenstiel's new role reflects the continued involvement of Illinois farmers in shaping trade policies and strengthening global demand for U.S. agricultural products.
