Kicking off the lineup, County Fairs and Horse Racing Day will now grace Thursday, August 10. Early birds can enter the gates at 7 a.m. to indulge in a full day of exhilarating horse racing, festivities celebrating county fairs, free entertainment, carnival delights, delectable fair fare, and the much-anticipated Twilight Parade.
Agriculture Day is shifting to Friday, August 11, allowing for an increased presence of livestock exhibitors and budding agricultural enthusiasts on the fairgrounds. This strategic change aims to spotlight Illinois' paramount industry.
Adding a novel twist to the festivities, a brand-new theme day called "Twosday" will seize the spotlight on Tuesday, August 15. With a modest $2 admission fee for adults and seniors, attendees can relish in budget-friendly fair enjoyment. Even the rides orchestrated by North American Midway, the fair's carnival operator, will be available at the inviting rate of $2.00 each.
Governor's Day, slated for Wednesday, August 16, will now feature the revered Governor's Sale of Champions. This day offers an open invitation to all fairgoers to explore the Hall of Champions and acquaint themselves with the dedicated youth exhibitors and their victorious animals.
