Illinois Soybean Harvest Essentially Complete



There were 5.8 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending Sunday. Statewide, the average temperature was 46.4 degrees, 3.8 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 0.11 inches, 0.61 inches below normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 11 percent very short, 17 percent short, 71 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 14 percent very short, 26 percent short, and 60 percent adequate.

Corn harvested for grain reached 94 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 91 percent.

Soybeans harvested reached 98 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 94 percent.

Winter wheat emerged reached 74 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 81 percent. Winter wheat condition was 2 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 57 percent fair, 28 percent good, and 7 percent excellent.
