Illinois Pork Board Seeks At-Large Directors, Resolutions

Have you considered ways to get more involved in the pork industry? Want to join Team Pork and sit on the Illinois Pork Producers Association Board of Directors? Now is your chance.

Members of the board are expected to attend quarterly board meetings, with a couple of conference calls in between. We would also ask you to serve on 2 of our committees as well, which meet around the same time as the board meetings.

Other duties expected are:

- Represent the pork producers in your respective district on the IPPA board.

- Represent the association by volunteering at the State Fair Pork Patio.

- Serve as a delegate to the annual meeting and other special meetings.

- Maintain good communication with pork producers in your respective district and keep them informed of important activities and issues of the organization.

- Encourage feedback from pork producers in your district to the state organization.

- Make an annual visit to each county within your district.

- May only represent IPPA legislative positions when a general policy statement on the subject is developed and adopted by IPPA board and/or staff.

Simply fill out the application and submit to deb@ilpork.com. Applicants are asked to attend the IPPA Annual Meeting on Feb. 22 in Springfield, where this will be voted on by the delegate body.

Please return form to IPPA no later than Jan. 7.

What is a resolution? The resolution process is part of our association's policy development. IPPA members discuss and determine IPPA direction. This can also be an opportunity to help determine and direct the pork national organizations on issues of importance.

Have input you'd like to see implemented? Fill out the form and submit to deb@ilpork.com by Jan. 7 for consideration at the 2022 Annual Meeting.
