The U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) announced the addition of veteran journalist John Herath as communications director.
Herath brings extensive experience as an agricultural reporter, producer and news director, including many years as producer of the AgriTalk daily radio program for Farm Journal Media and Vance Media. Early in his career, Herath served as bureau chief at the Illinois Department of Agriculture's Office of Public Information.
"USMEF is very excited to have John Herath joining our communications team," said President and CEO Dan Halstrom. John has exactly the skills and experience USMEF needs to effectively deliver information to our members and to other key stakeholders in the agricultural sector."
Herath will officially join USMEF on Jan. 3.
